Why do you choose to come to Rasa and what brought you here the first time?
I come to Rasa for the calming atmosphere in which I can relax and enjoy seperating myself from the rest of the world for a bit - while receiving the benefits of bodywork from the wonderful talents of Rasa's massage therapists. I came to Rasa by chance, when I received a free massage coupon after joining the Island Fitness Center. I admit I didn't know a thing about Rasa before then, but after that first session I have become a big fan of what Rasa has to offer.
What role has bodywork played in your life overall?
I've been working with massage therapists for a few years now, after hurting my lower back in 2008. Bodywork has increased my knowledge about the importance of listening to your body, and understanding how the different parts of your body interact with each other. It's this knowledge and understanding that I now incorporate into my everyday life.
How often do you take time for yourself by coming to Rasa?
I go to Rasa at various times. Sometimes it may be more than once a week, other times it will be once every few weeks. It really depends on how my body is feeling and what my activity level, in and outside of work, has been for the week.
What are some other ways you take care of yourself?
Eating healthy and maintaining a positive outlook on life. I'm also currently focusing on increasing my strength and flexibility through Yoga and Taekwondo, whereas in the past I've focused more on running and biking.
What do you love about Rasa?
What I love about Rasa, is knowing that after my visit I will feel refreshed, relaxed, and rejuvenated - it's a visit that I always look forward to. The level of care and skill that is here at Rasa is quite simply amazing. Everyone, from the receptionists to the therapists, really cares about your well being and they are always willing to provide extra tips and suggestions to help improve yourself outside of Rasa.
What don't we know about you?
I work as an electrical engineer for the Cayuga Rock Salt Mine in Lansing. I grew up and attended school in the midwest, where my family still resides. I've been living in Ithaca for 4 years now and have enjoyed life in the northeast, especially among the Finger Lakes.
