Jim Mazza
Why do you choose to come to Rasa?
Rasa
Spa is one of my favorite places to "re-center" and "reconnect". It
offers a quiet retreat from the busy, hectic schedules that seem to
fill many days. Rasa is a great gift to yourself -- a gift of time --
to read, meditate, enjoy a treatment or two, or simply sit quietly in
the sun-filled tranquility room.
What role does bodywork play in your life?
I've
been working with massage therapists for the last 15 years, and the
bodyworkers at Rasa are among the very best. Their good work has helped
me reduce stress, eliminate pain and discomfort from a chronic hip
problem, and increased my awareness and energy levels.
How often do you take time for yourself by coming to Rasa?
I'm at Rasa three to four times per month and with every visit, I tell myself, "I should do this more often."
Are there other ways you like to take care of yourself?
Like many people, I often feel that I
could be doing more to take care of myself and my health. I try to do
this in several ways, including eating organic, locally-grown food,
exercising more frequently(!), playing the piano every day, and
spending time with family and friends, especially those who have a
positive outlook on the world. I consider my time at Rasa an
important part of living a healthy, balanced life.
As a spa member, how do you use your membership?
I
was glad that Rasa offered a membership option -- not only for the
discounts members receive -- but also for the regular access it
provides to the spa. Having a membership encourages me to use the spa
more frequently and take better care of my health.
Do you have a favorite aspect to your connection with the spa?
I
continue to be very impressed by the staff at Rasa. They are attentive
to you and your experience from the minute you are greeted at Rasa's
entrance. They are excellent bodyworkers with engaging personalities.
But it's more than that: everyone at Rasa clearly cares deeply about
their work and their clients' well-being.... What could be more
enjoyable and gratifying than that?
Jim lives and works in Ithaca and shares his life with his wife, Nancy Osborn. He is a proud grandfather of two -- Zachary and Guinevere Osborn.
