Lymphatic Drainage is a gentle, hands-on technique that can benefit every body. We have two therapists on staff here at Rasa who are trained in two different types of lymphatic drainage massage. Sarah Costonis is trained in the Chikly method of Lymphatic Drainage Technique. Sarah Marshall is certified in the Vodder method of Manual Lymphatic Drainage.

Both methods are great for many ailments, including:
-acute or chronic pain (with or without swelling)
-Pre- and post-operative care, to reduce swelling and speed up healing time
-headaches
-sinus pressure
-swelling due to pregnancy
-concussion
-fibromyalgia
-multiple sclerosis
-issues relating to leaky gut and food sensitivities.

Chickly method Lymphatic Drainage Therapy sessions are known for warm and rhythmic touch. Sarah C loves that LDT has such gentle attention to the fluid bodies, and is fantastic for emotional clarity as well.

Vodder method Manual Lymphatic Drainage is more clinically-based. Those who suffer from lymphedema specifically will want to schedule a MLD session with Sarah M.

Both methods of lymphatic drainage encourage the natural flow of toxins to be filtered through the body in a more direct way than a traditional massage. Regardless of which method your therapist trained in, receiving lymphatic draining massage is soothing, like being gently rocked in your own internal tides, and it’s not uncommon to fall asleep on the table. It is a light touch therapy, but can effectively treat tissue in a way that deep tissue work does not.
