Mindfulness for Uncertain Times: The Shelter Within Ourselves

March 28 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 5:30pm on Thursday, repeating until May 9, 2019

A Six Week Group with Ellen Abrams, LMFT.

“We think that the point is to pass the test or overcome the problem, but the truth is that things don’t really get solved. They come together and they fall apart. Then they come together again and fall apart again. It’s just like that. The healing comes from letting there be room for all of this to happen: room for grief, for relief, for misery, for joy.”
― Pema ChödrönWhen Things Fall Apart: Heartfelt Advice for Hard Times

Developing and strengthening meditation practice during times of uncertainty offers us a place to land, can offer us a shelter within ourselves to experience all that is happening on the inside and outside. Together we will cultivate practices that help us through such times of great change, transition and loss.

The purpose of this group is to have a safe place to share your experience of living with uncertainty, heartbreak, fear and/or loss. Each week will be an opportunity to share your experience and strengthen an inner capacity to be present with yourself and others. This weekly gathering will incorporate guided meditation and group sharing. You will receive a weekly guided meditation to practice at home.

Meeting on Thursday evenings beginning March 28th  5:30-7  (3/28, 4/4, 4/11  4/25,  5/2, 5/9  Not meeting on 4/18). Phone assessment required. Concurrent participation in individual therapy recommended.

The cost of this Six week group is $300.  Possibility of reimbursement through insurance.
