Waxing Tips
Pre-Session: Ideally, your hair is about an inch long, or 3 to 4 weeks of outgrowth after your last shave. Yes, we can hear you moaning from here, but really, 3 weeks. Do it! you won’t regret it. If you come in too soon we can’t wax you. Bring clean undergarments to change into at the end of your day to keep your skin clean. Please refrain from using Retin-A, Renova, Differin, Accutane, or any such derivative for a week before your waxing appointment. Not doing so may result in lifting of your skin.
Exfoliate: Exfoliating mits are the best choice for daily gentle exfoliation in the shower. Using them will help keep your skin soft and allow new hairs to easily come through.
Post-wax: Waxing is a fairly long-lasting method of hair removal. A wax can last from 3 to 6 weeks. Better yet, when your hair does grow back, it comes in softer and sparser, not stubbly. If you wax consistently, waxing will change the growth cycle and physiology of your hair follicles. Schedule your next appointment on your way out to keep on track. Never shave or tweeze between appointments, and continue to exfoliate gently on a regular basis. Finally, for the silkiest-smooth results, stay hydrated—inside and out. By drinking lots of water, you’re ultimately moisturizing your body from the inside out, which can make for a better hair removal experience.
