COVID-19 Precautions at Rasa Spa:

Visiting Rasa is going to look a bit different for a while. There is a lot of information in this email, but we felt it was important to share these details with you ahead of your upcoming visit to the spa. Please read through to the end, and let us know if you have any questions not answered here.

A lot of the following protocols are mandated by New York state, and some are decisions made by the management team here at Rasa. The safety of both you as our clients, and our entire staff is of paramount importance to us. We want everyone in the spa spaces to feel safe and supported. We thank you in advance for your patience and understanding as we all settle in to the following visit protocols together:

-You must wear a face covering in the spa. You will have the option to remove your mask if lying face-down on the table during a massage. We will have a towel or pillowcase set up appropriately to act as a barrier in this case. When receiving a facial, your esthetician will indicate when you may remove your mask. Our staff will all be wearing masks as well, and if you are face down on the table with your mask removed or receiving a facial, they will be wearing a second layer of protection. If you do not have a mask, we are happy to provide you with one.

-The saunas and showers are closed, and we are not offering the option to change into a robe at this time unless you are at the spa for multiple treatments and moving to different treatment rooms during your visit. You’ll wear your “street clothes” in and out of your treatment room. We will have spa sandals available if you’d like to wear them.

-Please arrive 10 to 15 minutes prior to the start time of your session. We kindly ask that you proceed to the front desk soon after your session ends. Do feel free to spend a few moments in the Tranquility Room before you check out.

-After you check in, you will be directed to one of two Tranquility Room areas. Both have been arranged to allow for physical distancing. If you are more comfortable waiting in the front lobby area, you are welcome to do so. Please note that the meditation alcove is temporarily closed.

-If you would like to purchase any products, we would be happy to assist in gathering them for you. If you know what you’d like to purchase without browsing, just let us know at check-in what you’d like and we can put your selections together for you while you are in your appointment.

-Please do not bring unnecessary items into the spa. Remember that Rasa is a device-free space. (What a great opportunity to truly disconnect and just “be” for a few moments before and/or after your session!)

-Water and tea will not be available in the Tranquility Rooms, but you are welcome to request a cup of water or tea from our front desk staff or your service provider.

-Your service provider will have washed their hands immediately prior to picking you up for your session and will ask you to wash your hands upon entering your treatment room.

-Our front desk staff will be happy to help assist in contactless payment if possible.

-Please know that we are following CDC guidelines regarding frequent and appropriate cleaning of the entire spa. We have temporarily removed the table warmers from our massage tables for ease of cleaning between sessions. There is a space heater (and air purifier) in each treatment room should the air conditioning be too chilly.

-In accordance with New York state guidelines, if you are visiting the area from one of the restricted states listed in the link below, you must follow the precautions detailed – including quarantining for 14 days before visiting. If you have not quarantined, we respectfully ask that you do not visit Rasa at this time.

-If in the past 14 days prior to your appointment you have tested positive for COVID-19, have experienced any symptoms of COVID-19, or have been in contact with anyone suspected or confirmed to have COVID-19, please do not come in to Rasa.

-All of our staff members are screened when arriving for each shift, including recording temperatures.

-We thank you for your understanding of needing a few extra minutes of time to properly clean your treatment room between sessions. All bodywork treatments will end 5 minutes earlier than usual in order to accommodate proper cleaning requirements.

Cancelation Policy

We respectfully request notification of at least 24 hours when canceling, rescheduling, or changing the type of an appointment so that we may offer the openings to other clients and make the necessary changes to our staffing schedule. Any appointment that is not canceled, rescheduled, or changed with at least 24 hours’ notice will incur a fee equivalent to 50% of the price of the session booked.

Product Return Policy

Rasa will accept returns of products in unused condition and with receipt within 30 days of purchase and for boutique credit only. We are unable to accept returns or issue credit on items that have been used or are opened. At this time, our return policies are in accordance with those of our suppliers, therefore exceptions are not permitted. We do feature testers and offer samples for a large number of products in the boutique. Please feel free to ask about these if they are not offered in the context of your session.

Accepted Methods of Payment

Rasa Spa accepts all major credit cards, Rasa Gift Cards, Spa Finder and Spa Wish Gift Certificates, and cash.

Gratuities

It is customary (though not required) to leave a gratuity for your service provider in appreciation for their outstanding service. Gratuities are left to your discretion, though the average tip is generally around 20%, with some clients choosing to leave more for excellent service.

Group Rates

We love to host quiet gatherings at Rasa. Our main location in the Cayuga Wellness Center can accommodate up to eight sessions occurring at any one time, and our Watkins location up to five. We are available to help organize parties for family, friends, and business associates, and offer an unconventional space for gatherings. In addition, we offer a group discount for parties of four or more. We would be happy to discuss group visits and make special arrangements so that you and your party can create a unique spa experience at Rasa Spa. We also offer the ability to close Rasa Spa to other guests if you’d like to reserve the entire spa. Please call or email us to discuss these options.

Alcohol Policy

Please note that we do not allow alcohol in the spa. Non-alcoholic beverages are permitted. We keep tea and lemon and cucumber water throughout the spa. You are welcome to bring your own non-alcoholic beverages with you, or at the Cayuga Wellness Center you can order from CTB Fresh, the cafe located downstairs, via our front desk.

Electronic Devices Policy

Effective Jan 1, 2020, we no longer allow electronic devices in the spa. If you need to make a call or text, please do so in our lobby area. We believe that going device-free is important for all of our guests, both for healing and privacy.
